Mine is to wake up before everyone else, before the sunrise. Maybe a cup of coffee or two, and a good dose of Y!A of course...and my favorite thing is when I first see my best friend in the morning. I like having my 'alone time' in the morning before everyone else, but when my best friend finally gets up and sends me an email or a message, that's when I really feel awake. I love the early morning though, it's my favorite time of day :)

I wish I was a morning person. There is a trail that winds up a mountain to the far east of town that I have run late at night. Living in the desert, one is very aware of the abundant wildlife. Among the more innocuous species like deer and peccaries there are bobcats, cougars and even the occasional bear. When I go at night, I bring a flashlight but have little use for it so I run in the dark relying on the moonlight or, during a new moon, simply the starlight. Running in the desert starlight is very strange and exciting, the whole world is a pallette of dark grays and as your eyes adjust to the blackness, you are able to sense minute variations in light. Under these circumstances I was able to spy the tiniest glow worm out of the corner of my eye clinging to a prickly pear pad 10 yards away. So to answer your question, I wish I was a morning person. If I were, then the best way to wake up would be to wake when it is still twilight and hike in the blackness up to the top of the mountain. I would watch the sun rise on the other side of this mountain and then hike back down.

During the workweek I let the radio wake me up. I continue lying in bed listening to the music or news and slowly let my senses come alive. Snuggling an extra 15 minutes is wonderful.
On weekends, no alarm clock, I let the daylight awaken me. I hate a darkened room and at night enjoy the nightsky light shine into my room. It is very comforting.

Sun in your face, some cold in the feet, sounds crazy? That works for me, not sleeping more than needed, that way I will not feel lazy all day. Then a good warm shower and a cup of coffee. And ready to rock & roll again.,!

With your daddy rubbing your back. Kissing your cheek and quietly calling your name telling you it's time to wake up. Rolling over and seeing his smile and knowing that all is safe and right in the world.
Then ideally... rolling back over and sleeping for another hour because there is no school!! (Way to screw up dad!)

Slowly, and to just lay there and turn on the TV. Saturday mornings are the best - you can move at your own speed and you don't need to be anywhere.
