My aim is not to judge or be seen as insensitive, but why is this side of the story never shown. This is the proverbial elephant in the room. Our silence as a nation on this side of the story has led to mounds of misinformation and misunderstandings. This is more than just a choice, this is an extreme LIFE impacting decision.

This IS reality.

Cuban Friend -

My cuban friend, you have just described liberalism to a T. Liberal groups are ALWAYS trying to force the nation to live a certain way. It's funny, when the situation is reverse, that they would get as seething mad as the posters on this board have. The difference here, we try and persuade in order to raise the standard of morality and decency in this country - liberals would have none of that, they despise decency and morality because it comes with responsibility and accountability.

Farien3 -

that's the difference between you and me, I don't believe morality and decency are subjective to each persons opinions of them. I believe that the majority of people would agree that the destruction of innocent children is considered immoral. Why do I believe liberals reject decency and morality? Because all the fruit of their labors show that they do. I don't have to judge to figure that out, all you have to do is observe.

If liberals feel that morality and decency are subjective to each person's opinions, then why are they in an uproar over Iraq? Why call bush a murder and immoral? Is that subjective?

The only ones I have lost credibility with are those who themselves walk around as living examples of hypocrisy.

But thank you for your answer

You are right, it is an extreme life-impacting decision. Almost as big of a decision as giving birth to an unwanted child. You are obviously the victim of pro-life propaganda. Abortion technology predates christianity and will outlive it as well. This is rather a decision for the individuals involved not an outside group. Your question represents what is wrong with America; a pervasive sense that a small group should tell every one else what to do or how to live. I personally think abortion should not be used as birth control, but that is my own bias based on a friend who took no responsibility for her own actions and so she had 6 of them, which I found deplorable(when sterilization would have worked just as well). The religious right (also known as the American Taliban) thinks that anyone who doesn't agree with their views should somehow be punished.
Is this because they (and you) are insecure with your own beliefs?

So let me get this straight. Your aim is not to judge, right? And yet here's what you THEN said a few more lines down..

'we try and persuade in order to raise the standard of morality and decency in this country - liberals would have none of that, they despise decency and morality.'

So then we must assume that YOU believe you know what is 'moral' and 'decent', but that those who disagree with your definitions 'despise' decency and morality, right? Even though 'morality' and 'decency' are UTTERLY subjective and are complete value judgements.

Yes indeed. Nothing like objectivity and lack of judgement to make a person sit up and take notice. Well, this was good. You just lost all credibility. A shame after all your difficult cutting and pasting, but there ya go...

A disturbing site to be sure. The pictures and videos are very graphic and frightening. But please know that these are later stage abortions. Would they have the same impact if the aborted fetus was the size of a quarter? Strict guidelines and laws need to be enforced as to the time frame in which an abortion can be performed for the safety of both the mother and the child. But we cannot allow for the laws to infringe upon a woman's right to choose. Sadly, there are no equivalents for the male population, but if there were - the question is whether you would want the right to choose...

Abortion is a barbaric atrocity against humanity, especially the reasons its done today.

Pro rights for babies all the way!!!. I'm for a humans right to choose to live. Nobody should have power over another persons life....EVER.

Sure stick a label on it and call it "choice" and "right" all you want. In the end it doesn't justify ignorant murder.

We once thought slavery was OKAY as well...maybe we'll progress from this someday.

Women (and men) should be able to do what they want with their body. Until the baby (and yes, it is alive) can exist on its own it is a parasite and the host should have the right to remove it. I don't call it a parasite to be demeaning, but that is the correct definition of its relationship.

If you have a problem with abortion, simply do not have an abortion, or get a woman you arent married to, pregnant. It is none of your business if someone else decides to have an abortion.

Pure propaganda - useless and unsensitive for women who have to abort after rape or incest. Get a grip on reality.
