She is also pregnant. I would like to know if she can take medicine while she is pregnant or does she have to wait until the baby is born? Should she go see a psychologist right away?

She should see a psychiatrist. They can prescribe medicine and will know the ones a person can use while pregnant.

She does need to see a psychologist, but I don't think they will prescribe her pills because they might harm the baby. If she is depressed and suicidal, she needs psychological help (for her sake and the sake of her unborn child). The stress that she is feeling can also cause stress on the baby, and this is not good.
Encourage her to see a mental health professional and maybe even offer to go with her. This might help.
