No, the Queen has no political power. She is the top of the authorities, yet with out the flexibility. A figurehead. The function of the Monarch began to dwindle interior the time of King John, which replaced into about the late 1100's, or early 1200's. In a nutshell, he replaced into very abusive of his power, so the nobles of the country genuinely made him signal a settlement lowering a number of his power. This replaced into the finished structure, or Magna Carta, as all of us understand of it. considering then, the powers of the English monarchs have diminished to what they are as we talk--that of figureheads. besides the indisputable fact that, that's now to not say the Queen isn't necessary to England. She, and all of her royal ancestors, are element of england's identity. As Queen Elizabeth I once reported--she IS England!!

England is a Kingdom and has a sovereign, The Queen of England. She may also be the Queen of other nations, but She is still the Queen of England.
The Monarch has power to appoint and dismiss the Prime Minister and indeed does so each time there is an election.

Auntie Liz will never be on the dole as she is the big momma of all the colonies and of the UK especially, so Tony would have to sit this decision out along with any other who may wish to fire her. It would take one heck of a public uprising to have old Lizzie abdicated, and along with that the laws would change drastically too. The UK would then spend a small fortune printing new money and minting coins along with re-writing everything from the local by-laws and traffic laws to the constitutional laws for the whole country along with any colonial attachment too.

i think everybody has established that this scenario would not occur, but hypothetically speaking, if it did, why would she need to do anything? the woman is in her 80's and has worked- i repeat- worked in the public eye- her entire life from childhood.
when you consider that this very year she has attended more than 700 engagements, (average-thats 2 a day with no days off- think about it-she is in her 80's.) she has directly, and indirectly been the reason for millions of dollars of tourism income into the country- just this year (and every year of her life,)...is held accountable for the acts of a parliament for which she has no input, and everyday receives death-threats from all over the world and cant so much as blow her nose in public without it making headlines. what would she do if she was fired?
i reckon she would sit back, put her feet up and have a nice quiet cuppa tea in peace and privacy.
everybody assumes she goes swanning around a castle and making no contributions. you would honestly be very surprised.

she dont have to go on the dole she would just need to call on loyalest like the armed forces to put him down real quick like. the only reason they fight for blair is because he is her minister, when the queen qnd the troops finaly wake to the fact that this man is a traitor the sooner she can get the job done.

tony blair himself cannot fire the queen, but as a democracy we can make it very difficult for her to continue in her reign - but then again you would probably be arrested for causing anarchy by some 800yr old law noone has ever before come across.
but in all honesty as the queen on my first day on the dole: i'd actually get off my fat **** and so some really work and i'd learn to wave properly as well.
What would you do,you don't say?

1. She's not the Queen of England. She's the Queen of the United Kingdom (England, Wales, Scotland, Northern Ireland).
2. Blair can't sack her.
3. She can sack him.

As I understand, it can only happen the other way 'round. But if I were the Queen and it were my first day on the 'dole', I would probably kick back and smoke a fat blunt, a'ight?

Mcfifi has it in one. Tony Blair has the power to destroy the world, but cannot dissolve the Monarchy. The Monarchy however, can dissolve Parliament.
If I were Queen, Tony would have to watch his back! ;)
