Hi, I think the answer really depends on the child's maturity level, or rather, your assessment of it, in relation to the decisions you are considering having them be a part of...For instance, a child of thirteen who has demonstrated thoughtfulness and responsibility in other areas of their life may be able to make a well-thought out decision about whether to go live with one parent or another, some children may be able to do this at age 8 or 9, or even younger, while others may not the maturity to know what is in thei r best interests even at age 17 or 18. So I think its a constant re-assessing of their growth and maturity and then giving them the chance to prove themselves with greater responsibility, as long as they are growing in wisdom and maturity.

Hope this helps!

Depends on the decision in question. Small things about choosing the clothes to wear for the day, start giving them some options.
But big decisions about their life?
When they leave school, probably about 18. That's when they are required to vote, they are legally allowed to drink.

Depends on what you mean by decisions about their life. Age 18 gives them the legal right to make all their decisions.

It depends on what kind of decision to take. Profession - one can decide even if he is in his early teens. Marriage without the need of a parental consent - 18 for female, 21 for men.

Depends on the person you are talking about. I have seen 50-60 year old people taking wrong decisions.

Encourge him/her(the person u r talkiin about) to take decisions to infuse confidence on their decision making process. Though supervision is a must.

Best of Luck

When they are old enough to fully understand the consequences of those decisions. It depends on the magnitude of the decision. If they want a certain haircut, let them do it. If they want to stay out and drink at a friends house, hell no. You need to weigh the options before you let them make a major decision. We are here to guide them and to make their decisions for them until they are mature enough to do it themselves. Let them make small decisions and then see how they handle them. Then increase them.

Once children are out of their teens, it is ok I believe. Other decisions except life , leave it to them as you feel they are mature enough.
