You are just getting impatient Hon which is totally normal at this stage of pregnancy.
You just don't know when it's going to happen. It can be in 5 minutes, or 5 days, and not having control over it is so frustrating.
The best advice I can give is to try and keep busy and keep your mind off it. You can't stay pregnant forever, it's going to happen eventually.
If your baby is moving around then he/she is happy. If you are ever worried, even if it's just a "feeling" go and get some monitoring to put your mind at ease.
Your wonderful body is practicing with all of those braxton hicks contractions to make your labour easier. It's all preperation and your beauitful body seems to know exactly what to do.
Your baby will decide when he/she is ready when the sucking reflex, body fat and lungs are all perfect for survival and bonding outside the uterus.
Contractions make beautiful hormones which are the same that are released during sex (known as the love hormone) which helps you bond with your baby and helps your baby bond with you. The more practice contractions you have the better for you and bubs.
Wishing you a wonderful ecstatic birth soon!

I am so depressed to. I am due in 4 days and nothing. No braxtion hicks no nothing, but my midwife told me that anything could happen. Do you know if you are dilated or anything yet? When you baby is ready they will come. I know you don't want to hear that because I hate it every time someone tells me that. I want to hear It looks like your going into labor tomorrow or something, but yea I know how you feel. I have tried castor oil, nipple stimulation, sex and I am walking like crazy I also had my membranes stripped 4 times and lost my mucus plug a week ago and I have not had so much as a cramp. It sucks and I am getting the pains in my ribs and when I sit down and she moves it feels like someone is ripping my insides out. It hurts. Well I hope you have you baby soon and I am hoping the same of myself. I am so freakin tired and I can't sleep.

Have you called your doctor to ask this question? - that's what you (or your insurance company or the state) are paying for. There isn't really much correlation between losing your mucus plug and when you will begin labor - only that it should be soon. I have read in multiple sources, however, that having sex can trigger labor, as can walking a lot. Apparently the semen has an enzyme in it that stimulates the uterus to contract (or the cervix) and can bring on labor - as can having an orgasm, which does the same thing - contracts the uterus. Also stimulating your nipples can also help. Congratulations on your upcoming baby!

I feel your pain. I have had heartburn since I was 12 weeks, now I am 36 weeks. I wake up practically every night, several times a night because it hurts so bad, not to mention the pain I feel through out the day! And sometimes it's not just heartburn, a little throw up will come with it! My doctor told me my only options were to take maalox or tums. I take the smooth dissolve tums, they're not nearly as chalky and practically melt in my mouth. So, I keep tums everywhere. In my purse, by my bed, and in my living room. When I'm only having mild heartburn I try to drink a glass of milk and sometimes that will help a little, I actually think soda makes it worse. I am sorry you are going through this too, at least it will stop once we give birth! They say stay away from certain foods, but I swear EVERYTHING gives me heartburn!

Sex can help speed things up but don't do it when your waters break. If you have lost your plug it is a sign of your cervix opening up. Your waters could break or you could go into labour at any time from here on, so have your bag packed as it will happen fairly soon and once it starts things will happen very quickly. Just hold on in there and the best of luck.

I hear you....I'm 38 weeks and my baby is very, very active. Once they start running out of space it hurts whenever they kick or jab in there, making us want them out faster. I have heard that sex works but haven't had the energy to try that one at this point :) Good luck....losing your plug is a great sign so I don't think it will be long for you!

Vacuum, walk, and if you feel some braxton hicks, get in some warm water, that made my contractions regular, Also nipple stimulation helps as well. Best of luck to you and your baby.

as long as the baby is still moving around alot then labor isn't very close. right before you go into labor you'll notice that the baby is very still, mostly becuase you've started contracting and he CAN'T move.
but if you've been moving around, like walking or cleaning, that might help you along. just don't over do it.
and sex does help. seman softens the cervix.

If you've lost your mucous plug, you probably don't have too long. And don't worry that the baby is moving a lot - mine did somersaults until the moment my water broke.
