Since the majority of the elements on the periodic chart are metals, it would be a strange world without them. No aluminum would mean that most rocks would not be around. No iron would mean the Earth's core would be very small. The list goes on, but the bottom line is that the world wouldn't be anything but a large comet. As to thinking about a solution, what is there to think about? Most solutions require ions and most cations are metals.

There would be no earth without metals. The outercore is made up of iron which spins which creates the earths magnetic field which protects us and plant life from lethal sun radiation which if hit the earth would sterlize the entire earth which means it would look like mars in turn we would never of existed.

no way. I am a metallurgical engineer. I think ceramics would be a good substitute for metals but still you will need metallic elements for example to make Al2O3.

the present age in which we live is the plastic age.
the metal age was the past.
plastic is the best solution.

Nothing would have formed....and no stars would be glowing. Technically, hydrogen is a metal. Why waste time worrying about this.
