Life – it has a meaning and loving purpose - you just have to find your purpose and live it.

I believe every person is here for a definite purpose. Each person is special and valuable; that refers to me, you, your family, friends, in fact everybody! There is a loving plan for each of our lives here on earth and there is no such thing as coincidence. I don't believe that anything in life happens by chance and that every aspect of our lives points to something deeper.

You need to decide now to live for God rather than for yourself. You spend your life on Earth preparing yourself (as best you can) for death. I don't see death as a scary, negative experience, but birth into a bliss filled eternal life with God. I believe that this is something you have to consciously choose or not during your life on earth.

The meaning of life is for us to discover that we are true children of an infinitely loving and merciful God, to find out what our responsibilities are to our Creator, and to fulfill those responsibilities. Each of us is called to affirm, accept and develop the talents God has given us. -

The age old, 18,000 and counting here on Answers,...To be or Not to be?

80% of the earth's population do no have to ask this question, they're told by their religion. The rest of us can't swallow religious dogma, the fairy tales, etc. Nobody can prove that there life after death, that people are tortured or rewarded after life or that there's invisible spirits running around.

It's an astronomical certainty that you sun will eventually supernova leaving our earth a burnt crisp. We'll most likely doom ourselves off long before then tho. So does that make like meaningless?

Ive reached 2 conclusions, recently:

1. Life has no meaning
2. Life has a million meanings.

#1, in a thousand years, all you accomplishments will be forgotten. Sure you make a difference with your children and those around you, but even they will eventually turn to dust. Unless you're a hitler or alexander the great type person, know one will know that you were even around.

#2 all the small and great pleasures we can conjure during the short time we're here is what gives life meaning....the helping others, goody-two-shoes type things, raising kids, etc. etc..

If I was in New York, and someone there had found the meaning of life, I would flee to China and dig myself a nice bomb shelter to live in.

Knowing the meaning of life could alter the way the entire world functions. It could cause peace, an intense uneasiness, or a huge controversy that could result in a third world war. In fact, maybe I'd try my luck on Mars...

I've recently decided it doesn't matter what the meaning of life is.

The way I see it;

A: I have a life
B: It's temporary
C: Mind as well use it!!!

Well some people say there is no discoverable meaning to life. Others say life has many meanings and yours is what you make it. I believe there is a discoverable meaning to life from experiences that all human beings have had no matter what religion they hold or what language they speak. It is to discover the purpose for life.

Exploring and explaining miracles is that purpose; we started out doing this as babies and many do it as a profession. A miracle is an event that cannot be explained BY THE KNOWN LAWS OF NATURE. A wee child sees everything as a miracle because he or she knows few if any laws of nature. But he or she soon rectifies this by exploring the environment driven by a God given curiosity. The child is extremely happy doing this and only becomes bored or angry when prevented from explaining miracles to him or her self or unable to find new miracles. He or she is lucky if they are not discouraged by others or necessity from continuing in this explanation of life's miracles.

The child grows up and soon discovers death is a necessary part of life.He or she may realize that death is the last miracle he or she will have to explore and explain. And if he or she is like the vast majority of humans will hope that that death is not the end but they will be able to continue to solve the riddles of life in a hereafter.

All we have is the present, and living and learning is key. We are all here to LIVE and LEARN, and hopefully evolve in some way. There is no one meaning. . . Life is what you make-it, but, live and learn, always live and learn.

Just curious, do you care what the meaning of life is, say, to an ant or a bird?

I'd say that the goal is survival, harmony with others, and learning! ! !

What a brilliant philosophical question!

of course, various different disciplines and professions define life's meaning. There's no universal agreement on life's meaning. medical doctors who pronounce one's death have their own understanding of life's meaning. Theologians and evangelists claim their own understanding life's meaning is the best. Phenomenologists have their own claim, Monks of Tibet will give you their own version of life's meaning, philosophers of the Age of Reason had their own understanding. Piggy-back joy-riders, nucleur physicists, virologists, pro-lifists as well as pro-choicists, the Pope as well as the Aga Khan, Republicans as well as Democrats, creation as well as evolution theorists, statheists as well as nuns, . . . . all know the meaning of life in their own fashion and certain categories such the politicians and the clergy even profess how to live it. The soldier and the serial killer know how to end it though. The undertaker knows how to dispose of it. I guess asking about the meaning of life is akin to askin for trouble because it is one of the fundermental questions that shakes us from our our deep slumber and points squarely to the eternal struggle between Good and Evil, between God and Satan. We may care less about how the mess and confusion began, but woe betide any sonofabitch that might remind us of its possible meaninglessness. Heck! we must jealously protect our compartments and guard against any misguided nincompoop who may sway the sheep away from the manger! We have a life to lead. There are little toddlers and women here that must be cared for. Our own faith and beliefs are meaningful, perfect, and god-given.
We know where we are headed little fella!!

Why can't we simply enjoy our precious life and keep off from trying to find out the meaning of life? This is where lies the meaning of life ....... it makes us take note of its benevolence by giving us so much that we get tired of taking and having and begin to contemplate giving. That is what is the meaning of life .... to give.
