What do the Second Life surnames mean?

I can't decide which one to choose!

They don't mean anything really, just choose whichever you fancy. I chose McCellan because I wanted something a bit Celtic. People with partners before the game will choose matching surnames.

Remember, whatever you choose, you are stuck with, you cannot change it even by marrying in-game. You can only get a different one by paying for a second character.
