To accomplish the "goals" set forth by the higher ups that you mentioned, the draft is inevitable. But that doesn't mean I support it. If we had more volunteers like we did there would be no need.

ok in the start, do not pay interest to the human beings that are basically declaring Marine Corps or Semper - Fi. There are execs and Cons in each and each branch. you need to attempt to do somewhat re-seek for on each and each branch. See which one suits you the superb. For in-stints, The Marine Corps has 6-8 Moths Deployments at the same time as the military has 12-15 Month lengthy Deployments. the military has extra Enlistment Bonuses And Re-Enlistment Bonuses. the military also has all of those faculties like Airborne college, Ranger college, Air attack college. there's much different belongings you need to seem into. for sure anybody will say bypass Marine Corps yet thats because theyre Gung Ho. I have comprehend for both branches.

Maybe we should take all the death row inmates/lifers and just let them go wild in Iraq. Just tell them,"Here's a gun, go crazy, do everything you always dreamed about." I don't think the draft is going to happen again, but if it does and I get called then I will happily go. Actually, I think I might be too old for the draft now.
RW - Senate voted 77-23 to authorize the attack and the House approved an identical resolution, 296-133. So it's not "Bush's personal war"

No. I say spend the money to increase troop pay to make the military a more attractive career instead of spending it on a draft and all the consequences that will arise from troops that don't want to be in it. Increase the re-signing bonus and benefits to keep our troops that are already trained and experienced.

It looks as if those little registration forms that young men have been filling out for the past 30 years are finally going to be used.
Someone here just said that if we had more volunteers we wouldn't need a draft. Man, what great insight.

Clinton unwisely cut the military 25% in the 90's , that's regulars , reserve and guard , whole divisions were disbanded .Every branch suffered manpower and equipment losses .
We need to recruit back up to PEACETIME levels .
That is going to take time and money .
We don't need the draft , we can fill the ranks with the willing .
Tens of thousands are turned away every year because they can't pass the ASVAB test , ( piss poor public schools ) .
Just lower the ASVAB passing score a few points .

I foresee Bush increaseing the military to a size greater than that of WWll. To do this the Draft will have to be reintroduced. Bush keeps useing the word WAR. When did the U.S.Congress declare War on anyone or a country? This whole mess is Bush's personal war. He is in it and don't know how to back out. As to date 3000 U.S. Men and Women have DIED for this....why ?We went to the Middle East to get Bin Laddal...remember him ? Bush's time in office is running down...he has nothing to lose. I have a 18 year old son...working and going to school full time to try and make a life for himself. Should I fear for his future ? I'm a Vet of the Nam war...I was DRAFTED like so many others..I feel blessed because I came home and in one piece. I don't want my son or anyones son or daughter to live through what I did.
My suggestion is to turn the keys over and come home. I'm sorry for takeing up so much time but I'm really scared for our children if we keep following our so called leaders.

The draft will cause a lot of problems. One of the biggest I see is getting enough young people who aren't too fat to serve. Being an all volunteer force, the military has been able to set higher standards. Going to the draft will drop those standards dramatically. In years past we had citizens that were of general good health and good moral fiber. Not so today. I'm not sure what the answer is. All I do know is that a draft will not be pretty with the pansy *** babies who would have to be drafted and the lawyers who will get rich off of them.

I think they are looking to take selective service to the next step. I am guessing that will be political suicide for the GOP. This is a major balancing act.
