Alot depends upon the character.

A really nice picture frame is a great idea: everyone always has someone they want to remember.

A gift card to somewhere they shop is also good, because then that places the option of what to get on their shoulders, keeping you from buying something inappropriate.

A gift basket is also good because food is non-personal/non-intimate, but its only good if you know what she likes. Buying her a meat and cheese gift basket if she is a vegetarian could be very awkward.

Buying her something business related is also very good. That keeps the gift on the professional level.

Alot of it depends upon how well you get along with your boss. The better your relationship, the more leeway you have with your gift, so long as you don't go too far over the line, like buying her lingerie.

How about a gift card to a nice restaurant? Then she can go anytime. Or a gift card to a department store or grocery store. You don't want to get too personal. I know that my boss likes to go to breakfast at a certain diner, so I bought her a $25 gift card and had several people go in on it. It's the best that I could do.

a lotion basket is to easy, but you can't go wrong with a gift card. If you don't have a great relationship with your boss you can also get a box of chocolates. A purse will also be good

make it something that is non-personal. if your boss is a coffee drinker, get her a gift card to starbucks or a local coffee shop. or if you don't want to do the gift card route, then just buy her some nice candy. i wouldn't suggest buying any alcohol or anything like that.

I agree with Steve W. I got lottery tickets for my boss couple years back and on one of the tickets he won $150. He was happy.
