Christmas is just 5 days away. The best thing you can give anyone is Love. It cost nothing but is priceless.
With all the running around, shopping, trying to find a parking space, going here to there, it's easy to forget what this time of year is all about. Close your eyes and remember what it felt like when you were little and the feeling you had as Christmas Day got closer. Try to slow down if you can and enjoy this time with friends and family; make this time about the love, not about some store bought present.

you are right; I came across a man one day and I was out of breath, annoyed because of a plumbing problem at home (he owned the plumbing supply shop) he said whoa , slow down ; what's the matter, I said I have a problem, he said stop right there, your heart is beating and you are breathing aren't you - I said yes, he said when those two things don't happen anymore then my friend you have a problem. This was many many years ago and his words really left an impact on me so I pass them onto you ; the man died of cancer shortly thereafter. Please make this Christmas season one to show to the world , of peace and love; it starts with one , pass it on - Merry Christmas

I don't think meaning was ever lost.

Christmas, like anything else, is what you make it.

In terms of the giving, some people get caught up in it, but the spirit of giving is a good thing, if its done thoughtfully and with some restraint.

In terms of the religious meaning, if you are christian, the meaning is ALWAYS there. If you are not really then why should it be? For the non-believer or person of christian culture, it is more of a cultural tradition; many of the christian rituals date from pagan ones in the country from which they sprung.

good advise. we all need to remember " the reason for the season " and not get all worked up with the hype merchants seem to force on us. thanks for the reminder to " slow down and take the time to smell the roses " as the old saying goes. Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to you and yours. May 2007 be better than 2006

Thank you.. I appreciate the comments... yet!!!!

Who made you the arbiter or the meaning of Christmas?

What about those of us that have to work on Christmas Day?

And just what really IS the "meaning of Christamas? Has there ever been a true meanining?

I have always tried to see the world as through the eyes of a child... these are things that we should all do everyday of the year.. not just at Christmas.

The essence lost to this season xmas,is the real celebration that's the birth of Christ the savior of mankind.the true meaning to this celebrtion is His birth for our redemption to God.so as we celebrate the real meaning is His birth for our reconciliation to the all mighty God.
