I have a CD-ROM which has two folders- one is called "pictures" and another is called "my documents" When I put the CD-ROM in my computer last July all of my files were there. But just last week when I put the CD-ROM in my computer again- when I opened the "my documents" folder there were no documents! I originally had plenty of documents in that folder. They seemed to have vanished mysteriously. When I opened the "pictures" folder all of the files originally in that folder are still there. I don't think I accidently deleted the files in the "my documents" folder because I tested this. Today I tried to delete one of the files from the "pictures" folder but it wouldn't allow me to delete. The CD-ROM is protected. What do you think happened to my files in the "my documents" folder? Why are they suddenly gone?

Since you have already burnt your documents on to the CD-ROM there no way you can delete them. Try and refresh the documents folder. Or if it still doesn't work try and view hidden files option in the view menu. It is under the folder options tag. If that doesn't work, try and use that CD-ROM on another computer. See if that works.

Files don't just disappear from CDs, and you CANNOT delete them. Make sure it's the right CD and that you're opening the "My Documents" folder on the CD and NOT the one on your hard drive. Also, make sure that the files aren't just way down at the bottom of the folder where you can't see them.

Clean your Cd and try in other computers. Check whether it is hidden or not.
Run the CD and select all and copy and then paste in a new folder in hard drive, if it is there, it would be copied certainly.

Check your My Document in hard drive whether you have confused with those. Don't name a folder which are similar to operating system folders to avoid confusion.
