It's very normal, provided the pain is not severe. It had nothing to do with fertility.

If you're a guy who's asking coz he cares I just LOVE YOU, and will you marry me (juuuuuuuuuuust kidding.) If not, well you are some lucky cow. I personally think that God choses that time of the month to punish me for all the wrong doing I've done -it feels EXACTLY LIKE THAT!!! I don't know why some of us get the pains, but if there weren't anything to take it away, I'd have committed suicide a LOOOOOONG time ago, because it simply isn't bearable. Oh, and there are several types of pain, ranging from "normal" to a condition called something like dismneorr or pyrrrr...something, which is really serious. NO it's got nothing to do with pregnancy... except maybe helping you to prepare for THOSE pains (I just DON'T want to know how much worse they could be.) And finally... if a woman want a baby? She's going to have a baby and she don't care about no pain.

They just do. Yes they can still bear children.
It's not a cause for concern if you visited a doctor and you were told you were one of the unlucky ones with painful periods (my wife sometimes has them too). No problem with conceiving children and yes, you should see a doctor. You won't know if it's an infection or cancer or complication until you see a doctor but chances are that it's normal but you just have to live with it.
Suggestions:
Hot water bottle on the tummy or the painful area
Hot blanket with massager, it helps
Thinking of a single good thought and repeating that in your head over and over again.
p.s. when I say you, it just means in general

Why did God make mosquitos? Actually, birth control pills can make menstrual pain, even severe pain, disappear. If I were to ask the question, I'd wonder what evolutionary advantage there is to having pain during menstruation. Not one that I can think of off the bat. Then I'd ask if it was present in mammals other than humans. Back pain is thought to be the result of humans evolving to stand upright, and that happening rather rapidly in evolutionary terms. In other words, I'd like to know what science has to say about the subject.

I have always gotten sever cramps, and so did my mother. Neither of us had any problems with conceiving or giving birth. In fact, we both were surprised to find it relatively eay since we'de had so many years to prpare for the pain, since it is very similar to the pain during mense. Some people also get gas/bloating during their period which is probably not even related to the reproductive organs but sure hurts.

Every woman is different and in different situations there body will react differently. Cramps are normal. People who usually have pain consult their doctor to get suitable medication. This pain has nothing to do with conceiving children. Your body is producing eggs...u can conceive. And finally, pain is pain. It ain't got a thing to do with cancer, infection or complication to pregnancy. Consult yr doctor or gynecologist for more info.

My younger sister had really bad cramps all her life that she would roll around on the floor in agony she even fainted on the train , the doctor said it occurs when the uterus contracts during the menstrual period and that can be happening because of hormonal imbalance or reproductive disorder but he did not diagnose her with anything. Now in saying this she has been trying to fall pregnant with no luck for the past year.

when I was younger I had such cramps that I would double over with pain. a doctor told me that when I would get married and make love with my husband, the cramps would stop. that was a lie. still had cramps. now I am a mother with three children. so having bad cramps has nothing to do with bearing beautiful children. my youngest son is 25

The stomach cramps women feel when they are menstruating is due to the womb contracting to rid the body of the built up lining which was formed in preparation of a foetus.
There is NO link between cancer and menstruation.
Read more about women's health and the reproductive system it is fascinating!

A dozen-odd years ago, a doctor with something of a specialty in treating menstrual cramps suggested to me that having children often ends or at least helps with painful periods. So...well, just add that to the answers you've already received, then.
