He is a magician.
He generates huge amount of turn on anyu pitch which makes him even more special. His attitude is very important.
A Pace bowler can show agression in Speed or by bowling a Bouncer, Spinners have to control that. they cant afford to bowl short or bowl fast.
Thats where he wins.
Next, another big facet that he has is the variety. Can bowl a huige variety of deliveries.
He is a genious in many a way. And undisputed Spin King.
Lets remember that
His counterparts Anil Kumble and Murlitharan come from Nations where other Strike bowlers or Match winners are few. Being from a country where there are ahuge number of Match Winners. He is doing a Fab job...
Shane Warne.... U deserve two thumbs Up

He's the best ever. Of course the one time I saw him bowling in the flesh, he was useless! On a dead pitch at Portsmouth he ended up bowling a bouncer to Rahul Dravid, he was so frustrated! He did however take two blinding slip catches - one ricochet off the keeper's gloves that he took falling the wrong way and a ricochet off the keeper's shoulder which he took running back (and then diving!) from slip. Don't remember who was keeping, but he was standing up to Dmitri Mascarenhas and another seamer and doing a s*** job of it!

as a cricketer.. yes. He changed the game, restoring faith in legspin bowling at a time when it had almost died completely.
but as a human being, the man is an idiot.
and jonti...think you must mean Gilchrist, not Gillespie !!

I'm Indian and have followed his record against our team. I would've called him a genius if he'd taken more wickets against us. He is simply great, but to be a genius he needed to improve his record against India.

Also, being English, I add the following comments...
I wish Sane Warne was English aslo...
The guy is an absolute star,,, It's like watching art/poetry when he plays.
I also wish we had Gillespie as keeper... not only is he an all-rounder, but he is also a gentleman.
