Velvet Rose is a great name for a horse you just bet a bunch of money on it but not for a baby. They should have the child taken away.

By giving a baby that name, it'd be limiting her career choices to exotic dancer or hooker. Be honest, would you rather employ an Emily or a Velvet Rose? I named my sons Daniel and Michael. Traditional, safe and normal names. keep the weird names for pets. Some people are just so selfish and tret kids like Barbie dolls. Dress them in ridiculous outfits, give them silly names then wonder why the kid grows up seeing a therapist twice a week.

I agree. It's OK if you're a pornstar or exotic dancer, perhaps, but who looks at a baby and thinks "Velvet Rose" would be the perfect name?
I think Elton John complained the same, wondering why his parents honestly thought "Reginald" would be a good name for a baby.

Noooooooooooooooo..... Sorry to be rude... How about Lily Rose, Violet Lily, Emily Rose.........Velvet Rose sounds too much like a vampish, gothic type of person......do you really want to do that ?...:)

I agree it's terrible. It kinda reminds me of Black Velvet and some kinda trashy adult book store. Why not pick something that's unique and pretty............my daughter's name is Sterling Rose...........unique, pretty, and named after a genuine type of rose.

not a good name indeed, Maria Rose is fine and Rosamund is a nice name but velvet is just odd.

Spot on. Why name your child with something you KNOW others will seize upon and tease them? People should be more considerate when naming their kids!
