Nail biting how many people here do it and enjoy doing it?
I am asking a question of why every one thinks that biting your nails is a bad thing. I just want to get it straight how many people here bite there nails how many people really bite there nails so there not there and cant stop how many people don't want to stop and just keep bitting.
I always see girls biting there nails when i go out and just wonder if you like doing it and if i told some one that i dont mind you doing it would that be ok.?

I am a 32 year old female and I have always bitten my nails. My whole life I have endured people looking at my hands, shaking their head and telling what a bad habit that it was. (especially for a girl being raised in the south where good lady-like manners were expected of me)
I thought that I was biting them as a form of rebellion, then I tried to stop. I tried several remedies, including artificial nails. I just bit the fake nails off. That was painful, but I realized that I liked biting my nails and I wasn't going to stop. I am married to a great guy who doesn't mind that my nails are bitten off to the "quick". His Mother thinks it is awful, as she equates beautiful nails with good grooming. I don't agree. I bathe daily, apply makeup and do all the things regular women do every day. I just bite my nails.
As far as you telling a woman that you don't mind that she bites her nails, I think that is great. Don't make a big deal of it. If she makes you happy, then you won't care if she bites her fingernails or her toenails. (it just may be more fun to watch) :)

I do it out of habit, not because it's enjoyable.
