I'm currently running Win XP Pro with SP2. I have McAfee antivirus, firewall, and privacy protector. I also use Spybot Searh and destry, Adware SE, and Windows Guardian. My problem started today when I noticed that my antivirus couldn't connect to the internet and I got two error messages saying, "Bad Line" and another with text squares in it. When I open my browerser (IE7), the animations for the ads flicker and stutter. Some pages won't even come up. I ran my Anti-virus, nothing. I ran spy-bot, nothing, I ran adware, nothing. I tried to run Windows blocker and it wouldn't come up giving me an error message saing that there was a bad or missing image file. It gives me that message when I try to bring up other programs like games. Is there a way I can diagnose and fix this with a minimum of fuss?

It seems you have a bit too many things on the computer. Keep the full McAfee setup and uninstall the rest. Because McAfee will alone do wat the others r do like the Spybot Search and destroy, Adware SE, and Windows Guardian. Install the IE7 again, because one or two dll files might be corrupt. This should help to solve the problem.

I have had similar problems in the past, but with Norton. The Live Update crashes. Obviously, if you can't connect, you can't solve the problem!

In my case, I disconnected all the software and first tried the repair and advice section on the website. So check out the McAfee site.

For me it was not helpful, so I eventually had to uninstall and then reinstall all the software.

After that, you should be able to run the software and sort out your other problems.

Hope that helps!

I think you have a bit too many safety programs, but if you need them, then my advice is to re-install them and see if the problem persists. Make sure all your drivers are updated. Re-install your video, mouse and keyboard drivers to be on the safe side.If it still persists, then try reinstalling your OS. This probably isn't a hardware problem unless it's your video card. I doubt it though, sounds more like a software problem so try these steps and they might help out. Good luck.
