10w/40 for petrol engine and 15w/40 for diesel.

It is fitted with the K Series engine and you will need to use 10/40. K Series engines are renowned for their need to be regularly oil changed. I do mine every 6,000miles (approx) and add something like a Teflon additive to the oil....at every other oil change. Changing the oil at 12,000 miles should be adequate but I like to keep mine to 6,000.

Do not use 20/50 in this engine!

Surely any engine oil would be OK? Why don't you ring up a garage that still sells Rover cars and they will be able to assist you?

Depends where you live and the temperature, HP, how you drive, etc. etc. Modern engines like 5-30, maybe a 10-40 I like 20-50...So it all depends on how you use your motor!

depends if you want to keep car for a while ..if not for long then most multigrade oils will do but if you are going to keep it then flush out engine ..fit new filter ..and buy fully synthetic oil ..this will reduce engine wear to all most zero .and it will run sweeter

Any 10/40 will be fine for that car.
