How do you help a neighbor?

I have a neighbor who is very poor. She makes just enough money to not be eligible for any sort of government help. I've watched her pretty much 'melt', body wise. I've taken to giving her boxes of food, left on her doorstep, without her knowing who did it. Is there anything else I can do to help her? I'm afraid she's going to die on me from malnutrition. What should I do?

I've seen people like this from time to time. Vagrants who need medical treatment and such like. You could have a chat to your local police station.
I think they would be most happy to be actually helping someone who isn't a criminal. They often have contacts with various charities. After all, if a Policeman approaches a charity it carries much more credibility with the charity than if it was someone "off the street".
You could also arrange for someone to pay her to do some work such as house cleaning etc.
