Buy her a digital photo frame that also allows a 10 to 30 second (depends on the manufacturer) voice message. It'll cost you anywhere's from $100 to $300, but if you're all the way over in India; I am sure she misses you. That's why a digital photo frame is a perfect choice -- she'll be able to see and hear you!

Try this"
Buy a picture frame. One with many panes. Take your favorite pictures of your family, and using a program like photo shop, convert the pictures to black and white. Crop and edit each to fit the frame panels. Print the pics, assemble and wrap.
I have bought many things over the years for my mother, including a new car. This was her favorite gift. A few hours and a few dollars is all it took, She has never stopped talking about it. She never mentions the car.

I had a photo taken of my sister and I together, and one of me and my b/f. They were taken with my own digital camera, and printed on my computer onto photo paper, so cost me only the cost of the paper and ink. I wrote a nice note on the back of the photos and put them in 2 lovely frames (which did not cost me much!) She is gonna love them!!! And I bought her tickets to the next Ballet.
Why don't you try something like this. Or a subscription to your moms fav magazine.

First and foremost, be there, tell her you love her and if she's like most mums, that'll mean more to her than anything you could buy. As for a gift, gee, perfume never seems to go down badly so that's what I'd get.

I always gave my mother a nightgown. A simple (no itchy lace) nylon gown in a glowing jewel color. She's been departed now these last 15 years and I miss her every day. Enjoy yours as long as you have her.

a 'do-it-yourself' card. just give her something she'll appreciate. but i think she'll appreciate it even more if she knows you gave it to her straight from the heart.
