i need to be able to walk into a store and buy one of these not buy online.

most motor factor shops should sell these heaters, they plug into your cig lighter socket, I have bought them before

If the car battery was fully charged, no. The car battery will have a much higher capacity than the iphone battery, so you should be able to charge the iphone many times without making much difference to the car battery. A week or two, with the iphone turned on, maybe would discharge the car battery, but not overnight. However if your car battery was faulty, or the car's charging system had not charged the battery properly, or there were other drains on the car's electrical system (stereo or lights also left on) then you could have a problem. If the battery is that new, get the charging system checked out.
