Your aunty could only have obtained the will if she was the sole executrix. If someone else was an executor they would have had to sign too and received a copy. If your dad made your aunty the sole executrix and did not state individual acknowledgements then all of your dads possessions will go to your aunt and it is up to her how she will share them or not at all. If you are mentioned in it then as his executrix she is responsible to do your dads wishes.
Maybe your aunt just needs sometime to come to terms with everything. If she said she will do it after xmas then i would just wait there may be legal things she needs to sort out first and with it being xmas its hard to get things done and most places/offices close for xmas.
If you can find out which solicitor he used you could go and ask to see a copy of the will but i doubt they will let you see or have one if you are not in it or your aunt is the sole executor.
Good Luck x

How old are you? Contact a lawyer or go and see the police and explain your story, so they can point you in the right direction. Just remember though, that if you are his only child, you are the closest living relative and even without a will, you will inherit everything. aunties dont count unless they are in the will. So I wouldnt worry too much there. If you are under 18, confide in another adult member of your family (or a close friends parent). Good luck, and sorry about your dad.

Sorry about your Dad.
Try asking your Aunty to let you read the will. Your father's will is not the property of your Aunty. If she refuses and you think she is hiding something, then I would suggest you contact a solicitor. Preferably the solicitor your father used, but if you don't know who that is then any solicitor will do. They will force your Aunty to produce the will for a will reading.
Good luck!

It sounds as if your Dad made your Auntie the executor of his will, you must have one. She may be just following his instructions. It is illegal for an executor to whithold a will or destroy it or alter it and offenders can be jailed.
Maybe she just doesn't want to deal with her brother's death over Christmas. Wait and see, if it isn't read by mid January you can go to a solicitor and legally force her to show you the will.

I'd confront your dad about it first.. See how he reacts and if he denies it or says "don't mention it to your mother" there could be something he's not telling you going on. Were the aunts drinking or sober? And what was your dads reaction? Confront your dad before your mom... But if it continues ask your aunt why she would do that to her sisters husband. And say you'll tell your mom because that's just wrong

condolences, sweetie...
you have all the right to see it because you are the immediate member of the family...but in most cases, if you are under 18 years old you need to have a lawyer represent you in your behalf for the legalities of the paper. otherwise your auntie may be protecting the will all along, and not what you think otherwise...

You can ask her. Or you can get a lawyer who will force her to follow the instructions of the will. She can't deny it exists. Do you know who may have been your father's lawyer? Look through his phone book or desk where there might be a card
