if your friend is Chinese, i heard that minimum is 100.00. If he/she is a good friend of yours 200.00 is good enough. But if you are broke, 10 - 50.00 also can. Its the thought that counts. Or better you just buy a present. They wont know the price anyway. Buy an electric kettle and say you bought it in China cause you more than 200.00...lol !

RM 100 minimum for this kind of place and how many people, you can bring all your family including your wife family,your neighours, as if your friend will know all the people who came in. Some people go in dinners without invitations you know.

If you low on budget, you can gave 88, 128, 168 range.
Normally for good friend and my budget allow will be RM368 per person.

$ = friendship. $ = face. $ = everything.
The $ your giving it = for the dinner cost per person.
Also to show one how wealthy and how close that person is.
And if you give an appropriate amount you'll get that in return when it you turn. (knew it from chinese friends)
