There are different ways to lose weight. The one that works best for me is moderation + excercise. Do not skip breakfast (reasoning: breakfast helps jumpstart your metabolism and helps you feel full throughout the day. If your metabolism is not activated, you are not burning fat) Eat 5 small meals throughout the day (keeps your metabolism up). Stay away from sugar and starches (your body quickly stores them as fat). These are pretty easy suggestions to follow. I've lost 20lbs so far with these methods. Hope this helps

Here is what you do,

First find an online calculator to determine your BMR. This is the amount of calories you'd burn in a day if you just layed around. You'll burn more calories then this just by doing anything, but this is a good conservative baseline for how many calories you burn in a day.

If you don't want to do any excersize, then you have to eat less calories a day then your BMR. You have to burn an extra 3500 calories to lose one pound. So basically if you want to lose 2 pounds a week, you need to eat 1000 less calories a day then you burn.

If you excersize, then add the amount of calories burned to your BMR to determine how much you burn in total.

The best way to keep track is to figure out how much you want to lose in a week, determine how much you will burn that week, and then finally decide what you can eat to lose that amount of weight.

Finally, Hoodia is a plant in Africa that a tribe eats to help them stave off hunger. The only thing about it is that there is already a patent on it, and only one company can actually sell it. They haven't fully developed it for manufacturing yet, and all the studies show that the stuff they sell claiming to contain hoodia has none.

Dont try any quick-fix solution. The results may seem spectacular but arent long lasting.
Have you seen how one person lost so much of weight after being on a non-starving but healthy diet of Subway vegetarian sandwich? (No, I am not advertising this product.)
The trick is to eat well, eat a food balanced in nutrition and fat, not to starve, but eat healthy. Give up on rich pastries, soda, fried stuff, fast food and anything that adds calories. Increase your intake of greens and fresh salads, and avoid alcohol. Have a good amount of exercise, say around 4 hours of brisk walking per week. Addition of foods containing fiber helps to give a feeling of hunger-satisfaction without adding calories.
Stop eating when you are about to feel satisfied of hunger. Avoid snacks between meals and also midnight ones. Drink at least 8 glasses of water per day.
Have a positive outlook on life and if you believe in it, try auto suggestion that you would really lose weight.
This is perhaps a tough menu for people to follow, as people do not have patience when they wish to cut their weight. If at any time you feel too tired when on this type of eating, dont hesitate to eat more, I repeat, never starve or fast to lose weight.
If you have any genetic problems, have these treated first. Some people have inherited genes that make them naturally fat. They need consultation with a doctor.

No magic tricks. Rather live a healthy lifestyle and your weight will fall in check. Our bodies can take abuse of not eating well (or at all) or eating just eggs for a month well when we are young. Doing things like this changes your muscle mass and makes you prone to early sagging, aging and obesity later in life. Be a healthy young person and retain your body for years to come, or eat eggs for 1 month, then pineapples and then tomatoes, but bear the consequence in 10 year's time.

Actually visit a nutritionist. Then you can also address the issue of whether or not you should lose anymore weight. You can tell the nutritionist your goals and they can give some really good advice on when, what and how to eat and exercise.
