My answer is no.
Look, there are a few people here who think that Zidane is not great because he did not win that damn thing. I just want to say that Zidane is a legend and we don't need anybody's certificate saying that he is great or not great. 'Sides he's already won it thrice.
I think all people, including the Italians should forget everything and cheer for Zidane one last time. He is a legend whatever happens.

Messi winning World Cup 2014? I think you are delusional. There are far superior teams in the wold football like Germany, Netherlands and Spain who would simply destroy Argentina. Remember how Germany destroyed them 4-0 in the WC 2010, so I think it is impossible for Argenita to win it. As for Messi, he will never be considered the greatest player of all time because there were far better and more successful player like Pele (3WCs), Ronaldo (2 WCs, 1 runner up and all time top goal scorer), Maradona (1 WC and 1 runner up), Zidane (1 WC and 1 runner up). So I have to say he will never be the greatest player ever, even if he wins a World Cup.

George Best, Johann Cryuff, Alfatini, Riviera, Marco Van Basten, Raul Gonzalez, Luis Figo, Eusebio, Didier Deschamps, Paul Gascoigne and the future Rooney.

Dont pay attention to what others say. Many ppl in here believe that Italy didn't deserve the WC. Who cares ?
I dont think its the Italian fans who r disrespecting Zidane take a look of the French fans questions. Cannavaro deserved the prize and for sure it doesnt make Zidane less greater.

Zidane is a legend because of his talent with his head and feet on the field .....
unfortunately he will also be remember by the use of his head in the WC Final. This does not make him less of a footballer.
Zidane does not need another award to achieve greatness - he already has it and lots of awards (check out the list on wikipedia.- I was surprised.)
There is nothing that he has not won.

Let me tell you this once for all. Zidane did not win the cup, but with no contestant, he was the best player in that world cup. What makes it really amazing is that he was 33 years old.
