If there was an uprising in America, no foreign power involved and you were drafted into the military, would you kill or confine your fellow Americans as ordered? Would you do as ordered by an official or government you did not agree with? Would you defend the nation and policy or would you be jailed and maybe executed instead for not following orders?

Let's say the uprising was over federal policy, taxation, a power struggle, constitutional change, or a racial issue. This is a general question.

For Jon H. Have you ever heard of Germany? It had a constitution and parties. In came Hitler and the Nazi party, so things can change, again this is a general question. The British ruled the American colonies by rights and on paper, we revolted then. The Constitution is on paper, people are real and do bleed.

If there was an uprising against like the people and it turned into a full scale civil war or something or I was just drafted to the military to take on corrupt missions to destroy innocent people places or things, I would avoid the draft because avoiding it would be the right thing if the military was corrupt.

this is a trick question. The nation you are describing would be in conflict with the bill or right which is the foundation of the united states. So if you did fight for this you wouldn't be fighting for America. The oath which is taken by all military soldiers say "defend the constitution".

So there you go...

UPDATE: I would refuse to be drafted into a military that kills its own people for such a petty reason as the failure to pay taxes. There is a reason why the 2nd Amendment was placed into the Constitution.

I'm against a draft, so I'd probably be arrested.

I don't think I'd be strong enough to do that...that's why I thank GOD for the brave soliders in our military
