It recognizes the CD-Rs, but this will take too many disks. It plays movies and music OK too. Help?

Are you putting your music on there as mp3 files? You can fit a few hundred songs on one CD-R if you put them there as mp3's. Most DVD players can read them.

Some DVD players support MP3 playback on DVD-Rs, while some only support the playback on CD-Rs, I'm not sure why that is, but it all has to do with your DVD player.

You mentioned you have a DVD player. Does this mean you don't have a DVD burner? Because you need one of those to burn DVD-R's. If you don't have one of those then you probably have a CD burner instead. If I'm wrong and you do have a dvd burner then I don't know what to tell you... good luck!
