Please, no leggings!
I live California, so any local stores that you guys can think of?
My dress is a grey, black and white plaid baby-doll type of dress.
And I'd like to find some nice black stockings (maybe cotton type?) to go with it.

What about ones that go from the waist area to the toes, and not to the ankles only?

hmm, well i know alot of people wear the leggings from hollister & abercrombie&fitch here with their ripped jeans, it's warmer this way. these are actually a little thicker & longer than those that you'll get at wet seal or whatever. try some there. they are a bit expensive, but i think they''re worth it. go check it out. i live in california too, it doesn't get too cold in my area, it might be diffrent in yours, so it really depends on how cold it gets for my opinion.

At any of your local grocery stores. They are called tights! They are thicker, and are mad for cooler temps. They cost about the same as stockings!

you could try target, but hot topic has REALLY warm leg warmers (they are tubes that go from your ankles to as high as you pull them up)
