I am American Citizen and planning on marrying a filipina. Is it better to get married in the Philippines or bring her to the US on a fiance visa and get married in the US?

I advise that you marry her in the Philippines and she'll be qualified for a K3 visa. You'll need to apply for I-129F (fiance/e visa) and I-130 (immigrant visa for relative/spouse) visa. This may seem tricky but its simple really. The purpose of the I-129F is to expedite her trip to the states to be with you. And the I-130 is for her immigrant visa. You'll go through I-130 whether you marry her in PI or in US... The Fiance/e visa gets approved and processed a little bit earlier than that of the I-130. Should you opt for the Fiance/e visa, once she's in the US you still have to get married and adjust her status then go forth with the I-130 processing in the US.
Thing is, if you mary your lady love in the Philippines, she'll have to process everything there (using the 2 visa applications i mentioned earlier) and as soon as her immigrant visa (I-130) is approved, she'll be off to the US to be with you without having to worry about the USCIS anymore. You'll have all the time for yourselves.

The fiance' visa is a faster process taking around 6 months to complete. The join spouse visa is taking upwards of 18 months in some cases.

The Fiance' Visa is consistently the fastest way to get your pretty Pinay Princess into the U.S. to stay. My fiance' and I are planning the same and are passing on being married in the Philippines.

Theoretically, and according to the Department of State, the processing time for both is the same but in the real world it is not.

Recent personal experience of friends who have gone both ways as well as the communities consensus both show that the Fiance Visa is usually considerably quicker.

I HIGHLY RECOMMEND:

www.visajourney.com as an excellent source of good information.

Mag-Anak is also an excellent Yahoo group where you will get highly detailed discussions to your specific question.

Both sites are peopled with extremely knowledgeable persons that are up to date on all of the issues you will be facing.

My sister in law just got her fiance visa it took a little over 6 months. Its a lot faster then marrying your Pinay there, and then petitioning her. So go with the fiance visa. Otherwise you'll be waiting over a year or two to bring your new wife to the states.

The fastest way to do this is to have her travel to the US on a 'visit' then apply for a spousal sponsership. Fiance Visa's can take alot of time. It is always best to save some money and hire a lawyer to help with this process as even if you marry her she has no residency or citizenship entitlements. You must follow the immigration procedures.

Most of those men are insecure and bitter towards women who are American. They usually can't find a good American girl. These types of guys are usually not all that good looking yet they expect to find an American woman who is drop dead gorgeous who will want them, since that isn't the case they become bitter and angry towards American women and blame feminism or whatever else kind of bull on them not getting laid.So they go overseas and find women who usually don't speak much English or even know what's going on around them and be with them. Not saying all men do this, I can understand going overseas and finding love which is sweet but a lot of men like I mentioned above do behave that way.

I-129F Fiancee Visa is probably the best bet. But 6-8 months can't be true. It took us 11 months between 2004 and 2005.

There is no divorce in the Philippines unlike US, Think about it..
In the Philippines, you have to invite all her relatives or else, theyre gonna curse you for life...But if you really love her, go marry her in the Phils. she would appreciate that..being a Filipina.

Better move to the Philippines, and then just live in sin. It will make everything easier, and the Philippines is a much nicer place to live.
