Need to know how to stop homes being built past my home. They have to use my right of way to get there. They also need a variance to build on the lots. Town says the only way they'll deny the variance is for safety reasons. The people on the board are also the ones who issued the permit. Any guidance for me? Thanks

Hey m2. I didn't landlock anything the property lines have been that way for 60 yrs. Iive on a private road that is barely wider than a vehicle. The extra traffic on the road will be dangerous. That is my only complaint. And I don't care if the Town is getting more tax money, they're still going to raise my taxes regardless.

A lot of people hate change. Your neighborhood will never be the same. If they have to use your right-of-way for ingress and egress, so will the homeowners. Evidently the right-of-way is on their deeds also, so it is not privately owned by you. It happens, your privacy is yours no longer. Have you thought about moving? Yes, your property value will rise along with your taxes.

I see no way out for you, sorry, but maybe it will be a plus with the improvements coming in...and a close friend nearby...see what happens.

God Bless.

Town cannot approve building without access, and if the only access is over your right of way, and you have control of it, you can stop the process in its tracks. But you will have to file for an injunction for equitable relief, and this is a job for a lawyer.

interesting..how you "land locked" your neighbors land

someone has now bought and developing this land..and has gone to get the paper work to create homes, work, create more tax dollars...

the town has allowed this for that reason
the builders of these homes hire a professional to get the land..available for building and development..
