The 5 cylinder engine can have two different alignments. The Straight-5 or inline-5 is an internal combustion engine with five cylinders aligned in one row, sharing a single engine block and crankcase. In automobiles, it was used on the 1981 Audi 100, with 1921 cc of displacement. The GM Atlas L5R 3700 is the largest at 3,654 cc. The V5 engine is a V form engine with five cylinders. Volkswagen's VR5 is a 2.3 or 2.5 litre V5 gasoline engine.
