random event: the result of any single repitition of a random experiment is called as random event or simple event or elementary event.

the list of all elementary events in a trail is called list of exhaustive events.

a combination of elementary events in a trial is called as an event.

probability:
if tehre are n exhastive equally likely events in a trial and m of tehm are favorable to event A,then m/n is called the probabbility of A.its denoted by P(A)

bayes therem:
if A1,A2....An are mutually exclusive and exhaustive events in a sample space S such that P(Ai)>0 for i =1,2,3......... and E is any event with P(E)>0 then,
P(A/E) = P(Ak) P(E/Ak)/ sigma P(Ai)P(E/Ai) for k=1,2,......

an arrangement that can be formed by taking some or all of a finite set of things is called as a permutation.
