Harley Davidson has several factories. The initial and now the headquarters is in Milwaukee Wisconsin as is their museum.
Wauwatosa Wisonsin is their powertrain (engines and transmissions) plant.
York Pennsylvania is where the touring bikes, softtails and custom operations are at.
Kansas City Missouri is where the rest are built.
Check out Harley's home page specifically http://www.harley-davidson.com/wcm/Content/Pages/Factory_Tours/factory_tours.jsp?locale=en_US&bmLocale=en_US where you can check out signing up for a factory tour.

Harleys suck they are they are traders to there own country when they sold out to japan and more recent have allowed harleys to me made in Brazil and India. so they cant keep a american made motorcycle made in America ok yes they make them here also but why do they have to make them and sell them in other countrys also with all them sales why has the price not come down i can by a honda shadow for under $10.000 and it will be more comfortable faster better mpg and will be more dependable i would never buy a harley unless it was old before the company became idiots and ****** every thing up and just think there are dozens of American motorcycles made before ww2 so many cutting edge for there day why dont some investors get together and remake the Henderson!! Harleys Suck and if you think thats all there is then you are a narrow minded idiot and are coping a bunch of people who are wrong

Well the engines are forged in the fires of Hell by Demons, but that is common knowledge. LOL!
I think that Harley Davidson contracts out the manufacturing of various components to many different manufacturers.
As far as assembly I believe that they have many different locations for that.

actually there are several factories, all in the USA. We have toured two of them so far - Milwaukee and Kansas City. (go on a tour if you ever get the chance, it is interesting) One of them is where the engine is created and assembled, another is where the actual motorcycle is assembled.

Harley's are ASSEMBLED in USA but parts are bought in from all over the world. I think they are up to 80% made in USA but not by HD
Forks and shocks come from Honda, (Kayaba)
alloy parts are cast in France and Brazil, (wheels, pistons, cases, V-Rods)
electrics and instruments are mostly japanese
Carbs are Mikuni
