that's something i'd expect zz to say. he's ever the gentleman. as for ronnie, MJ is right, he did congratulate canna and if i recall what was said at the pre-gala press con, he was asked at 1 pt. how he felt about being nominated again and he said it was enough honor for him to be seated next to canna. that's why these 2, zz and dinho, are such respected footballers..they both have humility and grace. and canna showed real class too when he paid trbute to zz as a great player. anyway, i respect zz's opi about the award being deserved by canna but i still i say there were others who are equally if not more deserving than him. as for the fans following these players' example, i guess it's something to strive at but the thing is, we're too diverse here and self expression can be a tricky thing, plus respect can be both learned and unlearned, so it's gonna take a while.

Look, I'm a devout fan of Zizou but I never said that Cannavaro didn't deserve the award. He's one of the best.
And I also have to tell a few users here that just because Zidane didn't win doesnt make him any less greater.

Ronaldinho didnt say anything because he knows he will win it next year, and the year after.. Yea youre right, the worlds best player sucks.. cannovara only won it cuz he played in the WC and this is a WC year.. if not for the WC, cannovara would be an unknown. Basically what andygurl said I agree. But congrats to cannovara. He deserved the award.

that tells me that people should stop isulting zidane over here because he is a real gentleman eventhough he lost the award he is congratulating fabulous Cannavaro for the award..
on the otherhand Ronaldinho didnt say a single thing to Cannavaro!!!!
Cannavaro and Zizou deserve there places but i think that Ronaldinho should be removed from the list because he sucks

i like zizou and cannavaro sooooooooo much they 2 are great. i think that zidane recpect cannavaro as a great player .thay are great.
