IT'S DRIVING ME UP A WALL. IT DOESN'T MATTER WHETHER I USE MICROSOFT EXPLORER OR MOZILLA, MOST OF THE HYPERLINKS I CLICK ON ARE RE-DIRECTED TO TOTALLY DIFFERENT SITES OR PAGES FROM THE ORIGINAL ONE I WAS LOOKING FOR!!!!! SOMEONE PLEASE HELP!!!!

spyware/adaware clean your system most of the redirection is from that kind of stuff.

It is browser hijacking. If you have an antivirus program , try to run it while booted in safe mode of windows. Alternatively you can run a tool called smitfraudfix to detect the presence of smitfraud malware.
As an alternative you can run an free online scan to detect and repair from bit defender.
