Option one

Try System restore to see if it was a driver problem or registry error, if it doesn't fix it try option 2

Option two

Disassemble external casing (usually plastic) for the hard drive and inside you will see a regular hard drive, connect it through IDE or SATA (depending) and your drive will appear as any other drive.

Note, make sure you make it SLAVE if necessary.

If you are not sure how to follow OPTION 2, just take it to any certified technician, it shouldn't take more than 10 minutes.

It's easy

fortunate you it replaced right into a exterior difficult force, because you may receive software for your boot force that ought to get better the information with out overwriting the lost files on the exterior force. (like would take position in case you deleted files off the boot force) Now all you need to do is finally end up some good "un-delete" software. i will recommend files Rescue for OS X, Recuva for residing house windows, i understand of PhotoRec for Linux that's loose, yet calls for you booting from a state-of-the-paintings Linux cd. you'll favor to bypass the information to a unique force as your "Recuvaing" so that you want area if there is not sufficient on your boot force. besides the indisputable fact that, you may favor to study on line because some comments is your do not actual get the finished information decrease back, basically the files which desires to be grew to change into decrease back into accepted information by some ability with structure and so on. So even if you do, do not erase the objective force or overwrite to it until eventually you've your actual information decrease back on the different force. only a caution, Recuva may not artwork as meant.
