Hi Bernie _ I was on the pill for 7 years and occassionally missed a few, but when this happened I just ran 2 packs together and I never had any side effects. If in real doubt, then NHS Direct (0845 4647) can help, or your local friendly Pharmacist! Happy Christmas xx

Oh dear! What you need to do is refer to your pill packet information pamplet. It's the little insert that comes with your prescription. In the pamplet there should be information about what to do incase you miss a pill. Read it! If you threw out your packet info (either stupidly or by accident), it's okay. You can do a simple google search to find the information for your pill. Since I do not know the brand of your pill, I can't give you the information. I do know that you will need to use a back up method of contraception (such as condoms) for at least 7 days to prevent pregnancy because when you miss pills, you reduce the effectiveness of birth control.

Taking 2 pills now is a waste of time. Continue with the existing packet. If there are less than 7 pills left in the pack now, then go straight onto the next pack without a break. Otherwise, just carry on as you were. Don't forget, you are not 'safe' until Christmas Day now (7 days of unbroken pill taking) so use condoms until then or your cycle will be the least of your problems!

Wow, some of these answers are scary. You should take all the days you missed even if you take three pills in one day. Then you continue with your pack as normal. You should use a back up method if you missed those days and did not make them up. Look at the pill package insert because it explains everything very clearly.

Keep on taking them as usual, but use another method of contraception until you have had your period and started a new pack, just in case. Your cycle should not be affected.

Simple, if you miss a day, just keep on taking the pill as scheduled.

just keep taking as normal
Theres no need to take two today...it won't upset hormonal balance...theres just no need............if you are still unsure then you should call your gp's office and ask a practice nurse...she will put your mind at rest...or even ask at your local pharmacy
