We went in Oct of this year. Be sure to see the Freemont Street Experience - it is really great! (and it is free). It is in the "old" part of town, and they have an awesome music/light show, signs and memorabilia from the original hotels and casinos that have been imploded to put up new hotels and casinos, and street performers that are awesome, such as this one guy who played a fantastic sax and sang great. Also, lots of the casinos have free exhibits - check out the Rio for their Show in the Sky, Bellagio for the conservatory, MGM Grand has a lion exhibit - you walk under it, and there are lots of others. If you want to do something fun, there is a Nascar exhibit in the Sahara and we also found that there is a driving experience in back of the Sahara (not "the ride" rollercoaster). You either do an off-road track with hummers or twisting track with corvettes or cadillacs - all new model vehicles. 2 drives for $10 and passengers are free. My hubby loved that one. We saw Hoover Dam on a tour and that was cool too. There are some tours that will take you to the Grand Canyon (we did not have time or we would have), the nearby dessert, or nearby mountains, also Lake Mead cruises. If you walk the strip - and yes we did walk the entire way back and forth - there are lots of street activities such as an Island dance troup, a "mechanical" man, and other street performers much like you would see in NYC. At one point, we passed a young Elvis singing to a girl while her guy stood by - he had tipped to have a song - and there was an older Elvis waiting a few feet away for his turn to sing to the same girl! Go in the alcoves along the way, and enter the casinos as they are pretty cool looking in some areas. We also signed up for player cards at the casinos and got free stuff for signing up in most of them - great for souvenirs or for handing out when you return home. Go into the "cheap" looking shops along the strip for your water, etc. The casinos charge a fortune for it, but you can find it at 1/5 the price elsewhere. Be sure to buy GOOD walking shoes regardless of your travel plans, it was well worth it. Use the Duece buses to travel up and down the strip and the CAT buses to travel off the strip and back. Buy a 24-hour pass (it is good for 24 hours from the time you purchased it) and that is good for both kinds of buses as much as you want and allows you to hop on and off at will. It was only $5 each for us - best deal possible. The shuttles to and from the airport are okay, but don't buy a round trip. It is not worth it, as you pay the same regardless. If you buy early, then you are stuck, and there were 3 shuttles that passed us by as we got ours from a different company. (There are several companies). Also, allow about an hour for the shuttle alone, since it goes to all the hotels before returning to the airport, so it might take a bit of time. If you are going to go far, don't use a taxi - rent a sedan. They charge by the hour instead of by the fraction of a mile! This we learned from our tour guide. We actually found lots to see and do while there, and gambled perhaps 2 hours total the entire 4 days. Oh, go to TiksTonight at the lower level of the big mall (Showcase Mall?) next to the New Frontier and across from the Wynn. They have a bunch of half price tickets for all sorts of shows the same night, and they start the leaderboard for them at 10:30 am - opening at 11 am. It is your best bet for great prices to see the shows as they are pricey. Above all, have a blast and keep an eye out, as the coolest things are happening all around if you just watch for them. (and just walk past the "snappers" - they are guys and sometimes gals who snap cards of callgirls while you walk by. There will be lines of them sometimes but just keep walking.) Have fun!

I recommend going to the Sahara and seeing the Amazing Jonathan, he is a shock comic/magician and the funniest man alive. Spend some time walking up and down the strip. Check out the Caesar's forums (big mall) under Caesars palace, check out the art galary and the water show at the belagio next to Caesars. Go down and see the jowsting show at Excalibur, the Imax theaters in the Luxor are also pretty nice. New York, NY casino also has an indoor/outdoor roller coaster that is a blast. Also if you have the money, this may not interest you but it may interest your boyfriend, if you face the Aladdin.. or Planet hollywood casino, not sure what its called now, to the right there is a shoopping center with a 7/11, at the end of it is a place that rents luxury cars, you can rent a Viper for $400 and go zooming around the strip. Lastly for about $80 you can go for a nighttime helicotper ride around the strip, they pick you up on the roof of your hotel, its pretty nice. Good luck and have fun.

personally speaking from experience 'cause i lived in vegas for about 5 years or so, the venetian is a must see, its on the strip, the buffets are great everywhere, hoover dam is also excellent, i don't suggest gambling i never tried it but people almost never win anything, and end up at a slot machine all night, so go out and have a good time and don't get into trouble

If you are not into gambling or drinking, the best option is to take in some of the great shows - any Cirque de soliel show is a must! Plus, the rides (roller coaster at New York, New York or the other one - can''t remember the name) are fun!
Perhaps fine dinners at the nicer restaurants and some shows would be fun for you. Just my opinion of course! :)
