Hi, I wonder what's better between these two cities for a black/white french couple? What about the language schools, universities and jobs in Pretoria? I know JHB, but is PTA really more safe?

Yeah, Pretoria would be your best bet! They've got a really good university there...and the schools, I hear, are also really good! The language schools (if you're talking about primary and highschools) they would have Afrikaans/English...or just english or Afrikaans! Plus, all the embassies are there!

Go to Cape Town. Much safer than both Joburg or Pretoria. Much more beautiful too. There is good language schools and everything you need. Trust me I travel allot. Currently in China and I cant wait to get back to Cape Town.

I have always lived in JHB, never been to Pretoria so i wouldnt know about the schools. Sorry.

yea definitely Pretoria, its still not perfect but I've experienced many problems in joburg

South Africa has become quite a violent and dangerous place...
Pretoria is probably a tad safer.
