For the more I've read, and strived to understand these individuals the more I realize, and in fact see minors are in here and have access to porn,as well as to individuals in this lifestyle who are extremely promiscuous, and are adults.
This is wrong.
Yahoo must change this, based if not only on the federal C.I.P.A.,but as well as other fundamental global laws.

to longview I disagree since they are able to access photo porn from 360,and or profile pages.
with regards to what was the querie thats as plain as the nose on ones face.with regards to this section educating, and not violating I suppose work groups that I work with www security groups such as ietf, iesg, isoc and others as well as iana, iab, ftc, etc will ultimately define what is and is not correct with very sharp teeth.

I'm sorry but where was the question you were asking?? Or was this really an expression of your own personal beliefs on the matter just posing as a question?

"contributing to the delinquency of a minor" is a legal term of art. Is the question is Yahoo contributing to the delinqency of a minor?
Then the answer is no.
CIPA only applies to Schools and Libraries. It requires filtering software (which must be disabled as soon as an adult wishes to use the computer). It does not have any effect upon internet providers.
I have no idea what "fundamental global laws" are.
This forum like large portions of the Internet is not suitable for all ages. Parents should exercise their parental responsibility and make a decision on whether it should be filtered.
I would think probably it is something that would be filtered by Libraries and Schools when children are using it. However, I am not familiar enough with the definitions of CIPA and the judicial decisions interpreting it to give an informed opinion on whether this forum would be considered the type of material which CIPA indicates should be filtered.
I personally think there are a lot worse places for kids then this forum. The worst parts are the hate and homophobic cute stuff.

Yahoo has a TOS and rules of conduct in Yahoo questions and sexually charged topics are not allowed. They also do not allow porn. If there are topics which violate the Yahoo TOS you should flag them for review so they can be removed. There is nothing illegal about discussing matters important to Gays and Lesbians, your sincere questions are welcome. But if you are going to promote hate and censorship (both unAmerican) then you should not post to this site. Those are also considered a violation of Yahoo's TOS
I am curious why did you read these postings if they were so bothersome to you. If you were upset, why did you continue reading? and what is this about CIPA and fundamental global laws? What kind of nonsense are you using to justify your ignorance? The Children’s Internet Protection Act (CIPA) is a federal law enacted by Congress in December 2000 to address concerns about access to offensive content over the Internet on school and library computers. Last time I checked schools and libraries could infact censor sites which are inappropriate for children. Perhaps we need new laws to prohibit adults with a child's mentality from using the internet all together. Then we'd all be safe from needless attacks that sound like they came from a 6 year old. Grow Up.

I don't really think so. From what I read around, some are already delinquents. Though they may even learn to behave here, since there are many good members asking smart questions and giving educated answers.
But your fears about the safety and well-being of young people are not irrelevant; but in this forum they are exaggerated and not accurate. What would you like to see, an internet where teenagers never engage adults? This is not about to happen. Better they should engage adults in healthy, moderated environments similar to this forum, rather than in clandestine places where no one is watching. That's where those who are truly dangerous lurk.
Young people have vast access to portals on the web which are not healthy and which are probably illegal. But the interaction here is a lot more innocent than what Boy Scout leaders discuss with younger Boy Scouts while sitting around Campfires, from my experience. And the public nature of the forum makes this a safer place for minors to interact safely with folks who might help them through the nightmare of say, growing up gay and alone, isolated in some small town in middle America, doesn't it?

The 360 sites are a seperate component of Yahoo. If they are in violation of statutes prohibiting minors from accessing 'adult' material, then it is an issue with the access rules for 360, not Y!A.
As for the rest, it is no more than can be found on any communications forum; words and talk. If you think it is too graphic for minors, you probably haven't been to a schoolyard in the last decade or so.

I belive it strongly lies in your belives and values.
I personally would much rather have my children, and myself bear witness to pornagraphy, then to violence.
There are sertain taboos our society placeing on specific things, and not on others.
While it is OK to see an war be faught, men being torn apart, heats been removed, blood, gore...
It is not OK for there to be sight of the unclothed human body.
Yes we have influential children in our midst, but you have to wonder....
What does the viewing of pornography do to a young child?
Maybe desencatizes them.... so... when they grow older they no long will be as aroused by the same images?
- I personally see no grand harm, maybe a person may idolize a musculer man... or a large breasted woman over others.... that would be a big change huh?
But what about those who view violence....
The maybe desencatized.... so when they have that feeling that they want thier nagging wife... or useless husband gone.... well... what better tool than a knife or gun? I mean it's not like you won't see anything you haven't before, right?

Yes, and if we could get all those under 18 to go to bed by 10 p.m. I'm sure the national college admission test scores would really rise.
I would rather children were not on this site there are things here that they should not be exposed to. Most of it is posted not by people of the LGBT community but by their distractors.
There is a great deal of smut to be found of all sexual types. Parents need to use care not only to protect their kids from it but to educate the kids to protect themselves.

Yahoo is doing NOTHING wrong.
Promiscuity is not Illegal(not that I've seen many on here who are promiscuous).
360 has Filters that can be set to allow adult access only. If you have set up a child's account, they should not be able to access those accounts marked as adult. If accounts are marked inappropriately they can be reported.
It is YOUR job as a parent to raise your child, not the internet's responsibility.

I don't think it is just in this section. I reported an ex con in Law & Ethics who was posting a prison address for his "homie" asking women to write to him in a state prison. Yahoo took care of this within hours. Keep reporting things that you know have violated the community guidelines & I think that the yahoo people are making an effort to turn things around. There are so many grey areas when it comes to "porn" & it's a shame that children are left unsupervised. It's a bigger shame that adults are the ones misusing the internet to get their rocks off. What ever happened to porn shops?

Minors can access to all kind of material over the Internet. Parents should know that. As far as I know, you could be a minor too. Beside, how, this section contribute to the delinquency of minors it is not really clear to me.

Oh and the "Warning this site contains adult material, click YES to enter anyway!" front pages to porn sites is really going to keep minors out?
There is no violation here. You're just another ignorant fool who thinks if you're anything but straight, you're automatically a pedophile.
