It is not true that they don't work as hard to save you, since you must be alive in the first place to donate vital organs. They keep you alive on life support if you are a donor until they can harvest. Also, putting it in your will won't do you a bit of good since no one busts out a will at the moment of death. Wills generally aren't even read for at least a week after the funeral. If you want to donate, put it on your license and be sure to tell your family of your wishes.

I'm an organ donor and also a whole body donor through the life legacy foundation but don't want to be kept on life support for hours or days so they can harvest my organs or those of anyone in my family.

I think it is a wonderful thing to A. donate & B. to put it on your license. If you don't have that info available, it may be too late before someone gets a copy of your will. If you die in a car wreck or out of the country, then who would know?? By the time they realized you were a donor, 2 people waiting could have died.

You can save a lot of people with your organs (corneas, lungs, heart, liver etc etc), however you will need to die in a big enough centre to allow your organs to be harvested, and be kept on life support until this can happen. I hope all the members of my family have registered to be organ donors - and on their driver's license so if the owrst happens you can give others a chance.

That's not true. Doctor's work hard to save your life. They won't be the only ones working on you if you are dying, they wouldn't be able to pull off not working their hardest at trying to save you. I have it on my drivers license. If I am pronounced dead at the scene they can rush my body parts to where ever they need to go. Takes too much time waiting around for the lawyer to dig up the will. Put it on your driver's license, I have.

it relatively is an fairly good subject depend, and there will be many specialists and cons. I do have faith that if one person leaving this earth, ought to save yet another, then why don't you. And to open yet another total can of worms, what in regards to the fairly some "healthful" people on dying row??? Like I reported this may be a lenghtly undertaking. yet for me, if i ought to save a stay, espically a chum, family members member or family members member, why no longer. that must be the suitable present.

I think that if my organs can save someone Else's life than they should!! I do not need them anymore and it may be someones child that would not have a chance to have a life without them.

I have told everyone I can think of who might be around; and it's on my DL too - I want 'no heroic measures' to prolong my life, I want them to harvest what they might be able to use, or take the remains for scientific experiment if it would be usable, and burn what's left. And I hope they have a huge party in my memory. Lots of good food, drink and fun. No dang funeral. urk.
