According to many "Professionals" you should tell your family. But in reality, no two families are the same and will react the same way. For some, it can be a great relief. For others it can be the biggest nightmare of all time.
It really depends on how everyone feels about the TG community as a whole. In my family, my wife and children are against such throats, even thought they to accept those that are homosexual, but not transsexual, and forget about CD's. Your situation my be very different.
It probably is best to tread very lightly and take it slowly. Start by finding out how they feel about crossdressers. If they are responsive, then move forward one step at a time. If they are not, back off all together. You might not be able to change their minds.

Firstly, because you disclose this information, talk to your son about how much he knows about crossdressing and gage his reactions when you discuss the topic. Secondly, the reason why I am giving this advice is that your personal safety is really important, so before you do discuss your crossdressing (ie come out) to your son, it is always good to get an understanding of how the other person may react when you disclose.
Also you have to decide, how much information you want to disclose and how much information is completely necessary to disclose. Also, by asking this question it is something that is obviously something that you do want to communicate with your son about (as in it is obvious that you do want to tell him).

Keeping secrets is not the best way to foster relationships. Remember secrets have ways of showing themselves. So i think that it is very crucial for you to tell this to the people that you love so that they could understand you more.
It's always better to tell someone your secret so that You won't be paranoid and your son won't be surprised whenever he accidentaly sees you in drag. Telling the truth now can stop creating problems for the future.
For your sake i think it's time to tell your son that you like to crossdress. So that you won't be constantly living in a state of paranoia.
Though we would never know what his reaction would be, always hope for the best.

It is your home. No matter how society treat you outside your doorway you still have the right to be yourself within your own house. I think they probably suspect something. Crossdressing is not so rare that nearly everyone is aware of it. Telling them may make for a closer relationship.

Go ahead & tell them, they'll probably be more understanding that you think. And who knows, maybe you son already knows & has been dressing in your clothes too. But now he has his girlfriends clothes to wear too.
Have you ever wondered how you'd look in her things & thought about trying them on?

Don't, because if you'd tell, your son's girlfriend will start locking her clothes which is not a good thing...

Just tell them the truth since they're already adults. They should be able to deal with it.

Its your personal choice. If you wish to tell them, go ahead, if not - its ab okkay. IMO you should tell them yourself, cuz if they live with you, they're bound to find out sooner or later.
