I once became friends with a co-worker. We got along great, and hung out every single Saturday for 6 months. It was platonic. We went to the movies, ate out at restaurants, hung out at coffee shops and always had a blast. At the end of the night he would drive me back home and we'd give each other a little friendly hug and that was it. At the end of the 6 months of our wonderful friendship, we both realised that we had strong feelings for each other. It just developed over the 6 months. We both have fallen for each other and then decided to take our relationship to a whole other level. What I'm saying is, it IS possible for a girl and a guy to be just friends. But if they only spend time with each other...and don't go on dates with other people or anything (like in my case), eventually the feelings will develop.

I have several male friends who I have completely platonic relationships with. Just because you are both single doesn't mean that you are going to hook up. It's definately possible to enjoy the company of the opposite sex and not want anything other than a friendship. Those that say it's not just haven't experienced it yet, or are ignorant to the concept.

There's always a chance of that happening. However, you have to ask yourself if you are willing to risk this friendship. You have to bear in mind that being friends is very different from being lovers. If you mess up the relationship, you might lose a true friend. All the best!

is this an oxymoron or what? Friends are usually platonic......often the best marriages stem from great friendships where they learned and accepted everything about the other before they fell in love......so yeah, it can happen.....happens quite a bit!

Yes, I believe in platonic friendship. We need interaction with the opposite sex, it dosen't have to be romantic.

The chances are high if there is chemistry, slim if there is none.
