The real question here is what do you enjoy doing more? Do you like to get your hands dirty? Are you happier sitting in a climate controlled office or do you like to be up and moving around in the weather?

Both careers will require computer knowledge. Vehicles today use computer controls for almost everything. Automotive repair requires more physical labor and tools than does computer repair.

Most computer repairs only require basic hand tools and testers (for hardware repair, software requires no tools at all). An automotive technician may spend $3000-5000 or more a year in specialized tools, many experienced technicians have over $35,000 worth of tools in their box!

Either career can be financially rewarding. Pick the career that fits you!

Both positions are very much in demand. An automotive tech can get higher pay out of school but generally tops off quickly. It careers are really much more in their infancy stage and I believe they will be the bread and butter of all business, even the mom and pop store.

Do you think you make more working on a $30,000.00 piece of machinery or a $2000.00 piece of machinery?
