Goes back to the 70's. Led by Wilt Chamberlain, the 71 - 72 Los Angeles Lakers went on a roll starting November 05 1971 when they beat the Baltimore Bullets.

On January 09 1972 the Lakers finally lost to the Milwaukee Bucks, but managed to devastate the old record of 20 games, netting 33 consecutive wins in the NBA's longest win streak.

That's a damn long winning streak. Right now the Suns are currently on a 15-game win streak. But I highly doubt that they'll break the record. With the nba how it is now, I don't think anyone will beat that record.

the lakers won 33 games in a row during the 1971-72 nba season. ironically enough the streak was almost stopped by the suns during a very close game. adams and van arsdale had great games and only a couple of clutch baskets by gail goodrich kept the winning streak alive. several crucial 4th quarter rebounds by hairston and mc millan were also key to the lakers win.
this 33 game win streak is the longest of any team in professional sports.
hockey has had longer unbeaten streaks, but all of those teams had at least one tie before they hit the 33 game mark.
