Light blue shirt and dark blue tie :)

I recently went through the same dilemma for work. I bought a chic charcoal pinstriped ensemble because I'm an office clerk and the grey pinstriped suits are TOTALLY IN right now. I went to my friend who is a fashion advisor for a small magazine company and she said that this season it looks great if you wear a light pastel colored shirt (to bring some color and happiness to your outfit) and a bold colored tie opposite of the shirt color on the primary wheel. Ex. blue shirt=purple tie, yellow shirt=orange tie, red shirt=yellow tie, green shirt=blue tie etc etc. I was afraid I would look like a bumbling idiot/clown wearing these spring-like colors to the office but I got compliments from everyone and it was a total hit! I'm telling you, it's all the rage this season, be the first to get the trend going at your work! Good luck!
(P.S. I think you meant "pinstriped'' when you said 'lined')

A black or a gray tie will go with the gray suit very well. A light colored shirt. I would choose a white, yellow, or a light gray shirt. I hope that this sounds good to you as well. Have a great Christmas!

Stick to similar colors. Like a purple tie with a lighter purple shirt, or dark and light blue, or green.

Or, you could go the black or white shirt with black and white patterned tie. that's an interesting look as well.

Go with a light green shirt and a dark green tie, or wear a very dark green shirt and get a nice Jerry Garcia tie

A white shirt with either a solid red tie, or an orange with pattern tie looks good.

Really depends on the occasion and your skin tone / hair color, but...

Personally, I like a light/bright blue shirt with a green or orange tie (with a design on it containing blue and/or grey in it).

But I think I would need more details about your skin/hair to answer properly!

you want to guage the time of day. i'd adventure the tie to the blouse making it somewhat dressier. That or get a tie it extremely is the same purple because the pocket sq. with a very suttle tone on tone trend like a paisley, stripe, and so on....or do the different and do a purple tie with a patterned pocket sq.. i imagine both is amazingly present day and may look surprising. i imagine the grey tie may shrink to rubble the bypass of the outfit and look somewhat like a boy's more beneficial healthy.

Be sure to look all the way down..the bottom gives you color/pattern selections.

Just a personal note: I think pink looks good with gray. Teal is another color that looks great with gray. White shirt with a red tie is always a classy, safe look with a gray suit.

A pink shirt and a bright red tie makes an outstanding combination.
