They aren't triplets because dogs/cats can have multiple fathers to create the litter. So one baby may have one dad, and another a different dad (kinda like the ghetto families). So they are a litter since different genetic makeup.

well for me it is not supposed to be called triplets, because in human mostly twins and triplets has significance in the babies, like similarity in looks, and sometimes even in behavior.
but in dogs, having 3 or more babies is natural, actuallu a dog that give birth a single puppy is something un-natural.

i think so, but maybe all dogs who have babies are considered a litter, not twins or triplets. i don't know----ask your vet.

it depends if they all shared one placenta yes or are identical yes if not no the are considered liters.
