I have been doing online surveys for a few months, and it wont make you rich, but its like a part time job. I make a few hundred a month, the more sites you join up with, the more you make. I use paypal, or you can be sent a check. Good Luck!

Paid survey sites are a waste of time. You can make a living online, but 'paid survey' sites are not the way to do so. You'd make less than minimum wage. If you wanted to make a living online, you'd need to create new content regularly and monetize it.

1. Do you really get paid or are they just lying about the money
Yes...some survey sites really do pay. Companies save a lot of money in the long run surveying people about things like how much they would buy a product for or what they think of an advertisement. But un-fortunately, there are also scams which are deceptive. See my tips on avoiding scams further on in this post.

2. How do they pay me??
Depends on the site. Some pay by check, others by pay-pal. Others you can collect points which you can then cash in for cash (by check or pay-pal) or other
3. Do you know any websites that you know will pay you for taking quizzes and stuff like that??

I've listed some of the sites I have taken surveys through and actually been paid (or recieved other rewards like gift cards or CDS) on the following site, if you are interested:

http://www.windhavenweb.com/surveys

I list how they pay you, what I like and dislike about them, whether they have an affiliate or referral program, etc. (And yes, if I say they have an affiliate program, I'm part of it, and make a commission when someone signs up through that link...I like to be up front about that).

Tips on Avoiding Scams: Don't sign up for any survey site which asks you to pay to access the surveys. Also watch for language like "get paid for taking surveys AND SIGNING UP FOR OFFERS" if you don't want to have to sign up for stuff with other companies to get paid.

Always carefully read their terms of service and privacy policy. If in their privacy policy they say they only use aggregated info, this is GOOD SIGN they are legit. Aggregated info information that is grouped together so it can't be connected with anyones personal identification like name, e-mail, phone or address. That's what survey sites SHOULD collect. Avoid sites that say they give, rent, or sell any personal information (info that is not agregated) to third parties (unless you really don't mind getting junk mail, telemarketing calls, and spam).

Also, don't sign up through unsolicited e-mail links, since it might be a phishing scheme and not even the company it's claiming to be. (Exception: If you're friends send you a referral and you can verify that they actually sent it).

Also just recently came across a good survey ratings site that I've found very helpful:

1. no pay. They are lying.
2. They promise, and promise, and promise, but, never do pay.
3. There aren't any! everybody who does surveys is already a paid employee, hired in a live interview! Many are friends and relatives!

There are no free lunches.
