Mine is only a year younger than yours and we got her sunglasses, a massage thing from Brookstone, Christmas CDs, pajama pants, and a perfume.

Let me think...there's not a lot of time left to get a gift ready, but here are some ideas:
1. Get some family photos together and put them in a nice album, with brief descriptions about each picture - or make a collage out of the pictures.
2. Buy various small items she likes (example: chocolates, movies, perfume, jewelry, jam, cheese, whatever) and make your own gift basket.
3. You could make your own Christmas card which includes some family photos on it. She'll keep that card forever.
I hope these suggestions help. Good luck!

No - I have to hit the malls and see what jumps out at me for my mom.
Although for the past month and a half I have been on the hunt for a Santa Claus that I can decapitate...
Last year the joke at Christmas was all my mom's Santa decorations - she's got a lot of them, and last year we started joking around about how many decorations were just Santa's head. There were a bunch! So we were razzing my mom about all the Santa heads... this year I've decided I want to get her a Headless Santa to sort of balance it out...
Yes, my family is weird. But we have fun! =D

Mom's really like stuff that comes from the heart. Try making her a scarf or getting her a picture frame with a memorable photo of the two of you in it.

How about a birdfeeder? My mom's about your mom's age and she has a couple birdfeeders. This year I got her a squirrel feeder. She likes to sit out on the porch and watch the animals.

I bought my mom a body wash and body butter from Bath & Body Works, because everyone in our family loves that store, including my mom.

If she collects anything find something of what she collects that is neat and get it for her. My mom collects Santa figurines and I got her a couple of those.

Try making something:
http://www.familyfun.com ,
http://www.make-stuff.com
http://www.foodnetwork.com ,
or get her one of those lovely bubble foot massagers or a full chair massager she can sit in and tingle all over after a full day of caring for you and yours. All the best!
